Building the knowledge, networks, and capability for safe and responsible AI in Hong Kong

The Problem
Hong Kong is moving quickly on AI across finance, education, healthcare, and public services. But adoption is outpacing the ability to manage risk in a structured way.
Many organisations are already deploying AI without clear governance frameworks. Decision-makers want to act responsibly, but lack practical, locally relevant guidance on what “good” looks like in practice.
At the same time, there is no neutral, cross-sector space in Hong Kong where industry, regulators, and researchers can work through these challenges together.
The result: fragmented approaches, reactive decision-making, and growing exposure to risk.
AI is advancing faster than institutions can safely manage it. This is the gap we exist to close.
Who We’re For
Students, researchers, and early-to-mid-career practitioners building their understanding of AI and its implications.
We provide a space to learn, connect, and engage early. The decisions being made today will define the systems they inherit and shape.
What We Do
Inform: We make AI safety understandable and relevant. Through newsletters, explainers, and research, we distill global developments into what matters for Hong Kong.
Convene: We create neutral spaces for honest, cross-sector dialogue. Through webinars, group reading sessions and events, we bring together industry, regulators, and researchers to engage directly on emerging challenges.
Train: We build practical capability. Through workshops and structured learning pathways, we help individuals and organisations move from awareness to implementation.
Build Community: We are developing a trusted, cross-sector network of people working on AI safety in Hong Kong. This community is critical: it enables shared understanding, faster learning, and more coordinated responses to emerging risks - reducing fragmentation across sectors.
